Celebrating the End of an Era

89a4bb62082f076d5120c9175a381426--united-airlines-vintage-airlineUnited Airlines has announced it will fly the last domestic 747 flight as it did its first route of the iconic aircraft that is being mothballed after 47 years: San Francisco to Honolulu.

And, the carrier is going all out with a 1970s-inspired menu, retro United uniforms for flight attendants and inflight entertainment it says will befit the occasion (what, crossword puzzles?).

While a 70s-inspired menu seems like a reach (fried clams and mac n' cheese?), the retro uniforms could be a cool strategy for more than this flight. The NFL certainly has had success with the concept...but how many flight attendants would be up for going back to hot pants?

Yeah...not gonna happen.
