Music’s Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Week

Pse4cjrdqtkaesi5varvI can't recall a shittier week for losing artists from multiple genres.

Rock, pop, country, R& was a terrible, horrible, no good, very bad week.

On this Music Friday, we're gonna focus in on David Cassidy. I unlikely selection in the face of such trend-setters as Malcolm Young, Mel Tillis and Della Reese. But, unlike the others that departed terra firma this week, there is a side of David Cassidy's work that so few know.

There was the teen heartthrob days of the Partridge Family era...and there was the more recent work in which he updated some of those early hits.

But, there was a period in between, in which he struggled to be recognized as a bonafide talent, where he truly produced some really stellar work. Today, we remember him best from that era...with "Lying to Myself." And (sadly with no video) one of my faves: "You Were the One."

Rest, sweet prince.
