KNOWLEDGE BANK Minimize
As the Destination Marketing arena becomes increasingly complex, DMOproZ strives to provide an easily accessed Knowledge Bank for DMO pros around the world. From White Papers to cutting edge Research to our recommendations on books to make you think, videos to encourage your creativity and blogs to keep you current.

And, we want this to be a two-way street. When you see a great resource that would be a benefit to the DMO collective, shoot it our way and we'll post it up for your peers.

The Cool Regional Musical Find

IMG_5915It's one of the best part of this gig we call DMOproz. Terri and I get to experience the nightlife in destinations across this continent, catching regional bands that should so be nationally known.

We caught another a couple weeks ago in Florida's Panhandle...cool enough to qualify for Music Friday status.

I know the unknown artists we feature don't get many likes here...but, I dare you not to like Continuum. Great vocals, cool original compositions and a violinist that simply kills. We were hooked from the first song during a recent set at the Funky Blues Shack in Destin.

We're going for a triple play today because, frankly, the band hasn't quite found its definitive groove. We love "Get Loud" because the video celebrates the hipness of Pensacola's downtown nighttime vibe. We love "Breaking Point" because it showcases Jessica Heit's amazing virtuosity. And, we love "For the Best" just because.

Bands today can't rely on being discovered by the labels (as if labels are even a thing anymore). As Ari Herstand wrote in the incredible "How to Make it in the New Music Business Today," this will be about their marketing chops.

Because musically? Oh, hell yeah.

If you're enjoying the sun along the Emerald Coast this weekend, they will be at AJ's in Santa Rosa Beach tonight, back at Destin's Funky Blues Shack tomorrow night and doing an afternoon gig at Boshamps in Destin on Sunday.

Go.
