As the Destination Marketing arena becomes increasingly complex, DMOproZ strives to provide an easily accessed Knowledge Bank for DMO pros around the world. From White Papers to cutting edge Research to our recommendations on books to make you think, videos to encourage your creativity and blogs to keep you current.

And, we want this to be a two-way street. When you see a great resource that would be a benefit to the DMO collective, shoot it our way and we'll post it up for your peers.

Would We Do this in Business?

BoredOne of the truly great gifts I receive in my work with Boards of Directors across this land is the one-off comments that crystalize a concept better than do the experts, authors and pundits.

During a recent conversation with a Board, one member suggested that the on-boarding and orientation of new Board Members should be a priority for both Board and professional staff.

The rationale behind the exhortation? We allow new Board members a year to engage and become meaningful participants in the discussions that power our destinations.

Would we give our employees a year to get up to speed?

So...why do we accept letting Board Members take that long?
